Our Solutions · Sewage Treatment
Sewage treatment,done honestly.
treatment plants across North East India — and we help you choose the
right one for your site without pushing what we want to sell.

The Honest Comparison
There is no single right answer for sewage treatment.
The right system depends on your site.
your project. Here is how they compare.
Nature-Based (DEWATS)
- Best For: Resorts & small eco-projects (< 100 KLD)
- Electrical Cost: Minimal (Gravity driven)
- Maintenance: Low (Self-operating)
- Land Use: Requires larger footprint
- Aesthetics: Landscaped wetland
Mechanical (ASP / MBBR)
- Best For: Large urban & high-load sites
- Electrical Cost: High (Continuous blowers)
- Maintenance: High (Requires technical staff)
- Land Use: Very Compact
- Aesthetics: Hidden functional plant room
In our field experience:
and essential when treated water will be recycled back into flushing, cooling or process use.
The Blueways Way
Four things we do differently from every other STP
contractor in this region.
years that follow — when the plant is actually running.
Optimising the invisible cost
Electrical consumption is the single biggest ongoing cost of an STP — and the one most clients never see on the quote. We design and operate every plant to minimise blower runtime, pump loads, and continuous power draw.
Safety of equipment and people
Operators work with gloves and safety shoes. Panels are automated and built robust. Periodic amp-meter checks on every motor catch electrical faults before they become failures.
Regular MLSS tracking
MLSS — the concentration of active bacteria in your aeration tank — is the single most important indicator of biological plant health. Most operators ignore it. We track it regularly and adjust before problems show up in the effluent.
Stay after handover
We offer full O&M contracts with daily pump and water quality monitoring, WhatsApp reports to clients, chemical supply and fast breakdown response. 95% of our sites run smoothly today — through ownership, not luck.

Standards & Compliance
Every STP we design references the engineering bible .
validated against regulatory discharge norms.
Design Reference
CPHEEO Manual 2012
Manual on Sewerage and Sewage Treatment published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The authoritative Indian engineering standard for STP design.
Discharge Norms
CPCB Standards
Central Pollution Control Board effluent discharge norms — BOD, COD, TSS and coliform limits for treated sewage release to environment or reuse.
State Compliance
SPCB Norms
State Pollution Control Board compliance across Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh — managed by our team end to end.
Common Questions
Questions builders actually ask us.
These are real questions we answer every week from developers, architects, and facility managers evaluating STP options.
The short answer: if your plant is under 100 KLD and you have available land, DEWATS is typically the better long-term choice because of minimal electrical cost and low maintenance. If you need to recycle treated water back into flushing or HVAC, or if space is constrained, MBBR is the right path. We survey your site and help you decide honestly — not based on what we want to sell.
Our STPs consistently deliver BOD under 10 mg/L, COD under 50 mg/L, and TSS under 10 mg/L — all well within CPCB discharge norms. For reuse applications, we add tertiary polishing stages including sand filtration, activated carbon and disinfection to achieve reuse-grade quality.
MLSS stands for Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids — it is the concentration of active bacteria in your aeration tank, measured in mg/L. It is the single most important indicator of biological plant health. If MLSS drops too low, the plant cannot digest the incoming sewage fast enough. If it climbs too high, you get sludge bulking and settling problems. Most operators only check it after a failure. We track it regularly and adjust proactively — this is why 95% of our sites run smoothly.
We handle the full cycle — site survey, design, procurement, civil work, installation, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing operations. Most clients prefer our end-to-end model because it means one team accountable for the water quality, not six contractors pointing fingers when something breaks.
For a standard residential or commercial STP, design takes 1-2 weeks, procurement and fabrication 4-6 weeks, civil and installation 6-8 weeks, and commissioning plus stabilisation another 2-3 weeks. Total: roughly 3-4 months from contract to commissioned plant. Larger or custom projects run longer.
O&M pricing depends on plant size, site location and scope (operator hours, chemical supply, monitoring frequency). We price transparently and in line with regional rates. What we do not do is cut corners on chemicals or skip safety checks to hit a low monthly number — the entire point of our O&M is that it actually works.
