Our Solutions · Water Treatment
Drinking water, engineered for
the North East.
North East India has some of the most challenging groundwater in the country —
high iron, variable hardness, and seasonal bacterial contamination. We have
spent years learning this water.
Iron levels up to 4–5 ppm handled
Output: Iron < < 0.3 mg/L
IS:10500 (2012) compliantcompliant
WTP · Iron Removal · Softening · RO
What We Treat
Your borewell water is unique. We design for it.
Every water source in NE India is different. We test first, then design a system matched to your specific
water profile — not a generic catalogue product.
Details:
Input Handled: Borewell water with iron levels up to 4–5 ppm, hardness, turbidity and bacterial contamination
Technologies: Iron removal filters, water softeners, reverse osmosis (RO) systems — designed individually or as integrated trains
Output Quality: IS:10500 (2012) Bureau of Indian Standards · Iron < 0.3 mg/L
Capacity Range: From community-scale systems to large institutional and industrial installations
Best For: Residential complexes, hospitals, schools, hotels, and any borewell facility across all 5 states we operate in
The Blueways Edge: Deep field experience with NE India groundwater chemistry, refined across 40+ projects
The NE India problem:
Our Approach
We test first. Then we design.
Every WTP project starts with understanding your water — not selling you equipment.
Water testing and analysis
We collect samples from your borewell or source and test for iron, hardness, TDS, turbidity, pH, and bacterial contamination. This water report drives every design decision that follows.
System design for your water
Based on actual test results — not assumptions — we design a treatment train. Iron removal filter, softener, RO, UV disinfection — each stage is included only if your water demands it. No overselling.
Quality materials and installation
FRP vessels, graded filter media, automated backwash systems, and food-grade piping. We use materials that last in NE India's humidity and monsoon conditions — not the cheapest option available.
Commissioning and ongoing support
Every system is commissioned with output testing to verify IS:10500 compliance. We train your operator on backwash cycles, filter maintenance, and when to call us. O&M contracts available for hands-off operation.
Who Needs a WTP
If your water comes from a borewell in NE India, it
probably needs treatment.
groundwater needs a properly designed treatment system.
Residential Complexes
Clean drinking water for apartments and townships with borewell supply
Hospitals
Purified water for patient care, laboratories, and sterilisation
Schools & Colleges
Hotels & Hospitality
Guest-quality water throughout the property — no iron stains, no complaints
Standards & Compliance
Every WTP we design meets national drinking water
standards.
output testing at commissioning.
Output Standard
IS:10500 (2012)
Bureau of Indian Standards specification for drinking water quality. Iron < 0.3 mg/L, TDS within limits, zero coliform — the benchmark for every system we deliver.
Design Reference
CPHEEO Manual
Manual on Water Supply and Treatment published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Process design referenced for filtration, disinfection, and distribution.
Testing Protocol
Pre & Post Commissioning
Every WTP is tested before and after commissioning. Output water quality is verified against IS:10500 parameters before handover to the client.
Common Questions
Questions builders actually ask us.
These are real questions we answer every week from developers, architects, and facility managers evaluating STP options.
This is dissolved iron oxidising when exposed to air. Borewell water in Assam and NE India commonly has iron levels of 2–5 ppm. When pumped and stored in an overhead tank, the iron meets oxygen and precipitates as yellow-brown rust. An iron removal filter oxidises and traps the iron before it reaches your taps.
Not necessarily. RO is needed when TDS (total dissolved solids) is high — typically above 500–1000 ppm. Many NE India borewells have moderate TDS but high iron. In those cases, an iron removal filter is sufficient and far less expensive to operate than RO. We test your water first and recommend only what is actually needed.
Filter media (sand, activated carbon, manganese greensand) typically lasts 3–5 years depending on water quality and usage. Backwash cycles — which clean the media by reversing water flow — are done daily or as needed. We train your operator on backwash timing and schedule media replacement as part of our maintenance visits.
Yes. We design WTP systems from small community-scale units to large institutional and township installations. The design approach is the same — test the water, size the treatment train for peak demand, and build with materials rated for the load. Larger systems may include multiple filtration stages, automated backwash, and centralised monitoring.
Daily: backwash cycle (15–20 minutes, can be automated). Monthly: check pressure differential across filters, inspect valves and piping. Annually: water quality retest, media condition assessment. We offer O&M contracts that handle all of this — or we train your operator to manage it independently.
